- Mobility research an important pillar of the CV Innovation Lab
- Future topics more important than ever against the backdrop of Corona
(Munich, June 2020) Smart mobility solutions, digital infrastructure, sustainability, social added value – CV Real Estate AG, based in Munich, has always regarded parameters such as these as decisive competitive factors in the planning and development of real estate and neighborhoods, and assumes that this will continue to be increasingly demanded by investors, municipalities, but also users in the future. In order to be able to devote itself to these topics even more intensively, CV Real Estate AG founded its own subsidiary, CV Innovation Lab GmbH, in the fall of 2019, which deals exclusively with innovation topics. Around half a year after its launch, the company is now taking stock of the first positive interim results – and noting the relevance of the offering more than ever, especially against the backdrop of Corona. Christian Vogrincic, founder and CEO of CV Real Estate AG: "We see our task as much more than just 'putting stones on top of each other'. Innovation is a very central factor today, because it increases the attractiveness of projects enormously and ultimately also generates added value for society. That's why future topics in the areas of mobility, resource conservation and sustainability should not just be seen as add-ons, but as fundamental USPs and concrete factors for reducing construction costs and increasing efficiency. We are very pleased that we have taken this strategic step in the further development of our company with the CV Innovation Lab, because the current period in particular shows how great the need for action is, especially in the area of mobility."
Rethinking mobility and connecting the world in a smart and sustainable way – this is the guiding principle of CV Innovation Lab GmbH, which was founded in the fall of 2019 as a wholly owned subsidiary of the project developer and investment company CV Real Estate AG. The focus of the "Future Lab" is the Mobility division, which is primarily concerned with site-specific mobility solutions for real estate and neighborhoods. The team, led by Innovation Manager Friedrich Wilkening and Mobility Consultant Maximilian Richter, has set itself the goal of shaping the future of mobility and thus helping to make urban districts even more innovative, efficient, sustainable and "future-ready".
Successful start-up phase
In the first few months since its launch, the CV Innovation Lab has already been able to drive forward important projects for CV Real Estate AG, including the development of a mobility concept for an office district in the east of Munich. In addition, the team has started collaborating with research institutes, technology-based FinTechs, PropTechs and ConstructionTechs as well as mobility start-ups around the globe in order to implement new trends at an early stage. The CV Innovation Lab currently provides its services internally in connection with its own projects, but is also happy to make its knowledge available to external parties in the interests of innovation.
Demand for new mobility concepts greater than ever before
The relevance of the CV Innovation Lab's approaches to mobility is more evident than ever against the backdrop of the Corona pandemic. For example, millions of Germans have recently been able to experience first-hand the high quality of our city centers when they are car-free. What's more, the seemingly simplest means of transportation of all – the bicycle – has recently shown just how much potential it has. Innovation Manager Friedrich Wilkening: "The current renunciation of public transport by many Germans and the associated renaissance of the car will bring the problem of car-based individual transport into even sharper focus in the coming weeks. That's why we will see a significant development push here in the medium term toward smart mobility concepts, which we will include in the development of our projects for the benefit of municipalities, users, but also in investors."
